Hi there. Today I am writing a reflection I have made while doing my second task for this course. We live in a world where technology is present in almost everything. We give it daily use, and it sometimes seems that we already know how to utilize it for everything, but do we? When it comes to teaching and learning, I think we don't.

I remember when I was a kid and I had to do group work for class, we usually had to meet somewhere, like a library or someone's house. We didn't have the options that we have now, because now we could make a video call or just send our pieces via WhatsApp or email. By performing these activities it may appear that we are in control of social media and technology, but there is much more to discover and do.
I thought I was better at using social media or just my computer when I started this course. However, now I see that I am learning to do many things that I did not know, but also that there is still a long way to go. One way of discovering so has been the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu), which shows educator-specific digital competencies organised in six areas. It is very interesting since it covers the educator's professional competences, the educator's pedagogic competences and the learner's competences. Thus, educators can assess their level at the different competencies and improve them.
I think there is no better way to learn than to know what you need to do if you want to learn something. So if you know what it takes to reach a level, only you can stop yourself from reaching it.
I invite you to check the DigCompEdu and see on what level you are in the different areas.
Bye!
