The importance of fun, or at least inspiring teaching.

Hi there! Today I want to give my opinion about something that was discussed during our last Didácticas lesson. We were debating about making funnier our lessons when teaching, about the different methods of assessment, etc... And the final conclusion was something like: if you have few students, you can teach them and assess them almost as you want, but when you have a huge number of students, you are limited.

So, in my opinion, it is true that if you have a lot of students, that limits you in some way. You may not be able to do as many interesting activities as you could if you have a small number of students, or you may not be evaluating them with more creative/extensive assignments as you may not have the time to do it.

However, I think the problem is not just in the assessment methods, but in the way, the lessons are delivered. Many teachers still dedicate their classes to reading what is written in the PowerPoint they have prepared. Of course, they can, but in my opinion, it is a waste of time, since we all know how to read and could even do it at home. I have had a few other teachers dedicate their lessons to reading and dictating their notes, and it was extremely tedious.

Therefore, I believe that you cannot always prepare more fun activities for the class or do some other type of evaluation tests, but I firmly believe that a teacher who loves to teach can make their students feel at least a little interested In your subject. It can be with different occasional activities, explaining why they are teaching them something specific, asking them to do a different task than they are used to, or even just trying to teach with enthusiasm.

It's not that difficult, is it?

What is your opinion about this?
